Pitch and Frequency. 
Low pitched sounds have a wave form where the peaks and troughs are widely spaced then displayed on an oscilloscope.
High pitched sounds have a wave form where the peaks and troughs are close together.
Another name for pitch is frequency. Frequency is measure in Hertz (Hz).
This is the range of frequencies a human ear can hear.
Pitch   -   Frequency   -   Example 
High    -   20000Hz     -   Upper limit of hearing
        -   10000Hz     -   Whistle
Medium  -   1000Hz      -   High note
        -   100Hz       -   Low note
Low     -   20Hz        -   Bass drum
